IHM on Twitter :@moogleworld I'm so glad to hear I'm not alone.

With almost 2/3 of the summer completed, we’ve seen almost all of the summer blockbusters that are going to be out. We’ve watch cars turn into robots, a rat with culinary talents and our favorite broomstick riding wizard return to the big screen. So with that in mind, I’d like to open a discussion of your favorite movies of the summer.  What film(s) do you think really succeeded and maybe what do you think the largest flop was?  Post your views as comments to this post.

My summer top film list would look something like:
    1. Knocked Up
    2. Ratatouille
    3. Transformers

I really was the most disappointed by the newest installment of the Fantastic Four. I was really wanting to like the film, especially after the atrocity that was the first one. I mean, this is one comic series, if you would have asked me before the original film, that I would have guessed would have done well moving to the big screen.

    Summer Favorites:
    1. 1408
    2. Transformers

For me, i was really disappointed with Ocean’s Thirteen. I think they did well with the first two, but by the third one it was too predictable, the camera use sucked, and it was just plain DULL. I know most people liked it, but in my opinion its just one of those movies they killed to death with too many sequels and should have have left it alone after the second one.
They are doing the same thing with SAW. The first one, and maybe the second one were amazing. The third one sucked, and now they are doing a fourth. Just give up already with the sequels.
Ok, I’m off my soapbox now.

Summer is my favorite time for movies. I usually see one a week.
    1. Knocked Up
    2. Transformers
    3. Live Free or Die Hard
    4. Ratatouille

I was looking forward to Ocean’s but it just wasn’t up to par of the other movies. It felt like the team had no challenge and you knew everything was going to turn out alright no matter what, there wasn’t any suspense such as “oh no, what are they going to do now?”.

Pirates was boring until the end battle. Althought I enjoyed the multiple Jacks on the deserted boat.

It was hard for me to enjoy Spider-Man 3 due to the theater and audience. Everyone was clapping and cheering at the most random and unnecessary parts (lots of young teens), I have never been to a movie with such a bad audience, especially on opening night. I’ll have to see it again to give it better thought.

Fantastic Four wasn’t anything special but I still enjoyed it. I wish it would have been just a little bit longer to have more of the Surfer.
