I’HM Blogging?
15 May
Tonight IHM and all it’s information is going to take a little road trip to it’s new server home. Because we don’t want to run into any replication issues, we’re going to close down the site until the transfer is complete. Once the transfer has completed, we’ll reopen the site and let it go crazy in it’s new home. We guarantee it’ll love it’s new home as it’s mega fast and has lots of memory for it to eat up.
For those of you who are going to be sad about this downtime, I’d suggest watching some movies so that you’re ready to get rating when we’re back.
Thanks to everyone for their support.

Tonight, our “galleries” feature was released on the film pages. This tab (that has been added to the top of all the film pages) will be where you’ll see promo photos for films as we add them onto movies.
One of the cool features we’ve developed for this was an image-mapping system. Through this system, we’re able to tag certain actors and their position in the photo. As a user, you can then visit the galleries and hover over the actors name to easily identify where they are in the photo.
For those of you interested in seeing this feature in action, check out our first gallery for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

We have just purchased our first dedicated server and with that we may experience sometime downtime as we migrate to the new location. We’ll keep everyone updated through our moving process.
As for new features, we want to keep you in the loop. Checking out the blog is going to be the best place to find site updates and news. We’re going to use this as our center point to release anything for IHM and you’ll always be in the know if you’re checking this out.
First off, we want to welcome Mike (Profile, Collection, Stats), while he’s been here for quite awhile, he was never served with a formal introduction. Mike’s a talented programmer that has already contributed a lot to IHM.
With that aside, we just had released Forum’s for titles and this week, we’re also releasing Galleries. The galleries will have commenting and character mapping. It’s always bugged us to never know exactly who was in the photo. Yes, they may list the people under neath, but how does that help you when you don’t know what they look like or the aren’t in order. Character mapping solves this. hover over a person’s name and a map of where they are in the photo will appear where they are located.
We have some big plans for the future. Stay tuned.
